Picked up a used D1 from Joel recently. The first few hunts I just used the factory programs to get familiar with machine. Once I learned the basics I made a few tone adjustments and performed some air tests so I could see where stuff came in. It was my last hunt of 2022 so I was off to a local park with a plan. One of my first targets registered a 98 it turned out to be a 42 walker. Ok great way to end the year! But little did I know there would be more. A few minutes later I received a solid 75 now keep in mind that I don’t normally dig stuff in this number range but I’m using a new machine so let’s dig! I love it when you cut a plug and you see a gold band! Turned out to be a man’s 14k wedding band that weighed in at 5 grams. Now that’s the way to end the year. Fast forward to the end of January 2023 and I’m back out for my second hunt of the new year. I’m digging some clad when I get a solid 54 signal. Down a few inches I pull out a ladies 14k gold band with a marquis cut diamond. Testing the diamond later proved it wasn’t real but it’s a beauty! I’m a turf deep silver coin hunter but I’m liking the turf gold ring thing!
