I am continuing to trim and adjust my Detector Team and, as most readers know, I am a fan of smaller-size coils and mid-size coils. I seldom us a larger "standard" coif, unless needed for a beach or a plowed field or open rangeland. For mode4rately trash sites or hunting the 'fringe areas' of old town sites or exploring to find where structures or activity were, a good mid-size coil is all I need. For that it might be a round-shaped 7" or 8' coil, generally Concentric design, or something in the 5X8 to 5X9½ DD size.
The Vista X with a 6.5X8 open-frame DD seems like it might be just the ticket. I had planned to acquire a new Vista X w/standard 11' Octagonal coil
(to go in my Accessory Coil Tote until time of need), and the solid 5.7 DD I enjoyed using before for dense Iron trash. Also the new solid 8" Concentric mainly or urban Coin & Jewelry Hunting. But that mid-size 6.5X8 DD ought to be just the ticket for those 'fringe' areas and modestly littered places.
