it is not always us or the detector circuitry that needs to fit the task, it is the search coil. I am quite fond of smaller-size search coils and have favored them for most of the places I hunt since 1968. The Vista X units I had worked quite well with their 5.
7" DD and when I reacquire a Vista X that will be my primary-use coil. Then I will need a good mid-size coil for most of my less-littered areas, something in the 5X8 range that is open design. For urban Coin Hunting here in the USA, the new 8" Concentric ought to be just the right selection.
