Monte, thank you for all of the info. It was a mini seminar in itself.
As with your variety of machines in your arsenal, I have the ones that work best for me. I have very mild soul in my area (Maine), and I do very little, if any, relic hunting. With that said, what I have is what keeps my detecting simple and fun. I rarely encounter any type of site that is riddled with iron.

I might add a new machine come spring, not sure if I need it though. Small parks and athletic fields in my rural town of 4000 people seem to be treating me well. I also seem to be the sole Hunter also.

I just dusted off my Whites classic III sl with the GB and threshold mods. I did them myself a few years ago, but have since forgotten the exact procedure to dial the GB in ?!? Looking forward to taking the 350 snooper coil to one of my favorite ball fields this weekend if the ground isn’t frozen.
