Changing times with many Forums.

It is sad to see some brands dropped from Forums, just as it is sad to see some detector manufacturers going out of business, and others just kind of falling behind when it comes to service for the consumer and offering practical and competitive models.

What also gets me a bit frustrated are some of the individuals who go beyond saying good things about what they like to use as they get too busy slamming competitor's products and bad mouthing what some hobbyists and detectorists like to use. No need for a lot of negativity but it seems to be a popular thing in recent years, especially on some metal detecting forums.

There are quite a few detectors on the market that I just personally don't like or feel make a good 'fit' in my outfit, but I don't go out of my way to badmouth them or put down those who own and use them. Instead, my passion for this sport goes beyond just using metal detectors and learning all I can about how they work. I have long enjoyed sharing my excitement about getting out and having fun, and do what I can to help others learn more and get a better understanding of how detectors work.

I feel that's what Forums should be used for. To share our times afield, show some of our finds, tell our stories, and to offer help when we feel we can be of service to others. And you, Randy, are one of the many good contributors on these AHRPS Forums who steps up to also help others when questions arise. I'm quite pleased we have a lot of good, concerned participants on AHRPS and not a bunch of those who hang out only to pester and annoy the crowd. Trust me, those folks wouldn't last long around here.
