Amen!
US should follow Canada and discontinue the penny, I don't know anyone who misses these little pests.
Canada should follow US and use decent metal in our coins.angry smiley
And let's hear it for 1, 2, & 5$ coinsthumbs up

Sadly, the Penny or Cent has become valueless in most American culture. I mentioned several weeks ago on a post that frequently when making purchases most cashiers say not to worry about it if I don't have enough pennies for correct change, They will often give me change back to the nearest nickel in my favor.

Many convenience stores, gas stations and such have a penny cup where people can drop their unwanted pennies for the next person to use if needed. I often see nickels, dimes and occasionally quarters in these spare change cups.

I often see pennies on the sidewalk or parking lot looking like they've been there for days or weeks, nobody willing to make the effort to lean over and pick them up.

They've become litter. It's Time to say goodbye.
