You had to have some pretty decent 'old parks' in Tennessee.

A good selection of old coin finds for just a few days. You both had some enjoyable rewards.

The WTHO in Ogden this May should be rewarding, as well, for those who have the patience ... and equipment ... to hunt older parks. I know they used to hold a LOT of coins and an ample amount of silver in the 'early days' of this sport, and certainly there are some savory keepers still out there. Patience and persistence will be the key ingredients, for sure, but there are some detector which might provide a bit of an 'edge' in those big grassy parks.

Those who have learned and understand how to slow and methodically work those Minelab FBS models will very probably be the most successful out in the wide-open grassy areas. My search durations are abbreviated due to health and mobility, and years ago I had to part ways with my Explorer II's as I can't enjoy them since impairments keep me from tolerating their weighty and awkward balance and feel. I'll still use a few deep-seeking detectors, but FBS is out for me. It's smaller coils and lighter weight to help me hang in the game.

I know that while I naturally enjoy making good finds myself, I get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction seeing the nice recoveries the folks make who attend these WTHO's and I can assure you we are likely to see some nice recoveries this Outing as well. Our Saturday evening dinner get-together is also fun to meet everyone and introduce ourselves, along will giving us a moment to enjoy sharing a look at some of out favorite old or interesting finds.

First day of the outing is just 12 weeks from tomorrow! Many will be arriving by 12 weeks from tonight so everyone who plans to attend, start preparing now! That's what I'm doing.
