My Teknetics and Fisher regarding EMI noise and separation.

I had four of the original T2's and then got a T2 'Classic', but the 'Classic' was after I moved from Portland Oregon to Arlington Oregon with about 565 people, give or take, when I moved there in the fall of 2013. The T2 'Classic' ran quieter ... but I was also in a quieter locations so I couldn't be certain if it was some changes or just location, but I didn't have a big problem all the time in Portland, just in certain areas during busy EMI induced days.

Since then I have had two more 'Classic' models and an upgraded T2 SE Ltd. or whatever they called it. It was calm, and now so is my new T2+. Of course you have to keep in mind I am using the 5" DD coils which are less susceptible to EMI interference than the standard 11" BiAxial coil.

I just thought I'd add here that I did some more testing today during a brief warm-up when out of the wind just to compare the 5" DD on the T2+, Omega 8000 and Fisher F44. The T2+ is definitely faster on the 7 high-conductive Trade Tokens, and close behind are the Nokta CoRe and Relic, but right behind them ... if using a slower sweep speed ... are the Omega and F44, and all of these models beat out the other detectors I have on-hand with their smaller coils on this response & recovery test strip.

The performance of the Omega 8000 and F44 were very close, but a slow sweep would provide me with 7 individual target responses, and remember, this test piece has the 7 tokens spaced with only 11/8 inches to 13/16 between them. The Omega 8000's search coil assignment is he 7" Concentric and I have two F44 with a 7" Concentric and 5" DD mounted on them. Don't ask me because I am not sure which of the two, Omega 8K or F44, is slightly better than the other, they are just very close.

The only thing I wished for, after doing more detector comparisons, was for a round 7" Concentric for the T2+. I got wondering if it just wouldn't work well with a Concentric coil that size, or if maybe, just maybe, it would be a dandy outfit to have on-hand.thinking

We have a week to ten days of winter-like weather back in our area starting Sunday. Temps will be 10° to 15° below normal, snow will arrive on Tuesday night, and it's going to also be very windy on most of those frigid days and nights. Oh, to be a 'snowbird' right now.

j.t., not quqite, but it depends on how close and how much.

Almost, but not with a tough iron challenge.

John, I enjoy every detector in my current Outfit ... but none of them are 'perfect.'
