Now, with regard to Tesoro's.

In my post above, in reply to Druid, I answered the question as best I could because he said based on what I know and the knowledge I have. That knowledge is that no detector I have now, or have owned in previous years, including most new models that have been released in the last year or so, match the performance in dense iron better achieved by the Relic and CoRe.

No before a reader jumps on that statement let me just qualify that by reminding readers that I'm referring to all my current detectors, those that I have owned, and those that I have used to compare with what I have afield. Since I do not own and have not used a Minelab Equinox for an XP Deus, those would not be considered models that I have put to the test with some of my tough iron nail testing.

Since I prefer to spend most of my time in older sites that generally have a lot of iron debris including rusty tin, I want to have the best performing models in my hand.

But keep in mind my answer was to be specific to his question which limited me do one detector. However, I'm fortunate that I don't have to limit my detector outfit to only one, and that's why my outfit 10 detectors is made up 20% Tenors's.

And since I have two Relic and two CoRe units, that means I have 10 total detectors, but only 8 models so Tesoro's make up 25% is my outfit.

In all honesty if it was a simple question such as how would you like to have any of your detectors in hand 50 years ago, the answer would be a simple of course. And if I went back 50 years do a lot of the places I hunted back then, I would be grabbing one of my tesoro's very often because I know what they can do, and there was a lot to be found back then and they would easily bring me success.

But that's also because 50 years ago today I was mainly coin hunting all the typical urban locations. My favorite Tesoro models still handle most of the average littered old sites without a problem, and in those situations I often grab a Tesoro for quick work on those sites. It's when I get into the really dense amounts of nails another iron where I favor those I listed.
