Re: LEARNING A NEW DETECTOR - Dabbling or Immersion? to Cindy?

What I do is run close to zero discrimination maximum sensitivity and that's where I usually run by machines because I want to find every Target I will discriminate very few things at the low-end like nails but that's about all I discriminate out. In actuality - I have it set at three discrimination 95 sensitivity on my kruzer. Almost always near zero dics almost always on the highest sensitivity. I prefer to see what almost all targets are. I run a tiny bit more disc on my whites and max sens. I also find some of my best Targets in out-of-the-way places like steep hills or side of embankments. I also agree if you're going to learn the machine you have to use a machine so keep on using it. Experience with the machine is what makes you master it. Also, sometimes you get a surprise for instance one time I was in the field and a half half dime meaning a half of a 1/2 dime was found that came in garbage but it was still a Target Worth Finding. If you just want to find only good targets you can turn up discrimination but I'd like to get them most all.

Cindy, your comments are a bit vague.
