I think the V3i also worked on this principle.

As well my old CZ3d too (here 2 frequencies).

TX frequencies are simultaneous, RX are not. RX frequencies are separated by micro-controller algorithm in sequences.
As you say, uC should be very fast to be able to separate at max 3 RX frequencies in virtual simultaneous work.

Equinox is capable detector regarding discrimination, separation capability, refreshing speed, stability on heavy uneven soil, acceptable weight etc. except (as most VLF Mine-labs) it is not deep seeking detector.

Par example in my tests on heavy mineralized testing substrate Equinox 800 is on 30mm silver coin about 5" shallower than Fisher F75 SE (special edition).
