What is DEEP ? - Some Detecting Options

Not a bad choice. If I were to select a detector and larger coil and specifically looking for a possibly deeper coin in a well manicured park or private yard, AND if there was very little to no masking, offending trash, it would be the new round 11" DD coil on a Nokta-Makro Anfibio Multi or Impact. I was impressed with the Anfibio Multi & 11" stock coil performance and I've heard favorable reports from EQ-800 users with that stock 11" DD as well.

Of course that brings us back around to just what is a 'DEEP' coin and the performance we might expect from a bigger size coil. Often it is extra coverage we gain more than depth, especially on the smaller-size coins. To that point I know that with the White's XLT, 5900 Di Pro and XL Pro, all standard with a 950, I enjoyed more comfort and matching or improved performance using an 8" Concentric coil such as the Royal 800, my favorite on those models. Second only to the 6½" Concentric coil for all-around general-purpose hunting.

I can only speak to my personal experience and the area that I live in.

What is DEEP ? I consider a coin DEEP if it is beyond 6". If it is at the edge of detection I consider it a really good find. Last year my 800 did well by finding good targets beyond this mark. This is one of the things that swayed me in keeping my 800 as my primary detector.

I probably should have mentioned the Anfibio with the 7" concentric coil as a possibility as I became a fan of this coil while using a Racer 2. I would love to have a year with the Deus and the 9" X35 coil and see if I'm able to find some of that amazing depth for a 9" coil that others have talked about. Going to have to think on that one. $$$ and Time to devote to a new platform.

Related Reference of interest? Well, I'm not, and I don't mind commenting on it, either.
