Doing the 'steel toe dance' smiling bouncing smiley

Back in the late 80's, we had a 'winter' club hunt out in the West Desert of Utah at an old ghost town. Very cold, but the ground was 'diggable' if you had the right shovel. I dressed warmly and brought my Sorrel snow boots to keep my feet warm. I struggled with false signals for the first 20 minutes or so only to realize that my boots had steel toes!. It made the day's detecting awkward as I had to swing to the side to keep the coil away from my feet. LOL

Just a couple years ago, my detecting buddy left immediately after work to meet me for a hunt. He wore his steel toed work boots and I watched as he did the 'steel toe dance'. He was a little faster figuring out the problem than I was 3 decades earlier. Funny to watch,

Rich (Utah)
