New Detectors - Finding What's Left.

May 28, 2019 10:52PM avatar
In my mind, this is what it is all about, Finding What's Left.

Is there, or are there, detectors out there that can find a few more items the previous detectors MISSED. Yes, MISSED. What were the previous detectors blind to ? What can the new detectors shine a light on that previously remained in the dark ? I'm not talking about items missed by sloppy coverage, but items masked that the previous detectors COULDN'T SEE. And can they find enough items missed that it is worthwhile for me to spend the money and acquire it ?

These are the questions I am asking myself.

Must this detector have some new technology in order to accomplish this ? No. I think that Nokta showed us that Vanilla is still a wonderful flavor when they gave us the FORS CoRe. Single Frequency, approximately 15kHz, bit of an unusual control box arrangement. Not even wireless headphones. No multiple Frequencies to select from. but it can sort though Monte's favorite House of Horrors and find stuff left behind by decades of detectors. At least to the patient user.

Now OregonGregg is going to jump me and say that I have one of them new fangled Multi-IQ minelab 800's that runs all of the multifrequency signal analysis through the MIT graduate program before whispering through the wireless headphones and telling me to dig. Wish it was that easy. But, yes, I think the 800 is one of these detectors for me. It finds stuff left behind as does the Fors CoRe,

And today I've stepped into the darkest of abyss' eye popping smiley and have engaged another detector, an XP Deus. I'll let you know how this goes. It's a brand new platform for me. And appears to be a new platform for several others here as well. Let's see how we do.

Anyway, that's my take on new detectors.

Looking forward to some great finds this year by all of you. Let's see some posts and pics.

Rich (Utah)

It's YOU that makes the difference.

The EQ800 - Does it qualify for Monte's House of Horrors ?
