Facts of metal detecting life

June 08, 2019 07:49AM
Something happened during my cut and paste. This is the full post.....

Facts of metal detecting life:
1) No detector is perfect for all types of hunting.
2) Some detectors are ‘good enough’ for all areas of hunting.
3) Some detectors are perfect for some areas of hunting, but are not as good in others.
4) Some detectors are perfect for one type of hunting and fail at others.
5) We can’t all get new detectors when the wind changes direction. (except for Gregg and Monte, of course)

Many hunters choose to use different detectors for different types of hunting.

Gregg hunts, exclusively, ghost towns so he owns a #3 – for ghost towns. If another detector comes along that unmasks better, regardless of how it may perform in other types of hunting, he will buy it, if even to resell it the next day eye rolling smiley

The fact that detecting is no longer my main hobby (astrophotography and ham radio), I own a #2 (Nox) which can do very well in all areas, but might fail a particular, obscure ‘Monte test’ grinning smiley

NOX nox 'em dead!

Yes, or the Relic, all based on the level of iron contamination.
