thanks a bunch monte! the "turks" have made u.s companies stand up and take notice as to what they are doing for sure!
Very true, and that includes ALL us detector manufacturers. I'm still wondering which two manufacturers will be the next to fold up their tents and go away.

still thinking' about the t2 ltd. "black paint" with the 5" coil well as the slightly bigger concentric coil that is offered.
I never cared for the 11" BiAxial on any Fisher or Teknetics. As for a larger-size Concentric, never used one on a T2 series model. The 5" DD was about the ONLY coil I used on a T2, T2 SE Ltd, T@ Classic or the T2+, and of them all I prefer the current T2+.

also looking at the equinox as well.
It's something to look at, to be sure. As for buying one, it just isn't my favorite. They work OK and I do like the 6" Concentric coil for them, but they haven't shown me any performance 'edge' over what I use in the very iron littered sites I spend most of my hunt-time at. What would it offer you that you would really want, make use of, and do for you and the sites you hunt the most?

monte, would you say that the t2 ltd with 5" dd coil is a "better" hunter overall in a "urban environment" than the fors core with the same coil?
NO. I wouldn't say that, and there's only one thing about the T2 that interests me for urban area searches, and that is the use of 3-Tone which puts the US Nickels in the High-Tone range which I do like for a lot of urban hunt sites.

Other than that I have long said the T2 physical package is one of the best, lightest and well balanced designs. But overall performance? No, I don't think it is better than the CoRe or Relic.

i know you speak highly of your t2plus with the 5" coil attached. i 'assume" you have taken the t2 plus to your relic sites, and determined the 'turk" was better in THAT environment
Long ago. When I got my Nokta FORS CoRe, January 8th of 2015, I had previously owned 3 T2's and at the time it arrived I had two brand new T2 Classic's and several other makes and models I was using. The FORS CoRe out-classed them all for my needs in dense debris, which does include a lot of iron junk. I HAD BEEN using the T2's I had w/5" DD coil in many of the Relic Hunting sites ... until the CoRe got in my hands. All other detectors except Tesoro's were sold within 4 months.

in addendum: monte you indicate they 'discontinued" the fors core and relic?.. any thoughts on WHY they did this?..kinda curious!..thanks!
Dilek mentioned the goal for the future of Nokta-Makro Detector technologies was to make detectors that were waterproof, powered by Lithium batteries, and that's what they have been doing. Only the Impact and Racer 2 have survived and I really wonder which will be next to go. I think it will be the Racer 2, but who knows?

It's just their desire to move ahead with their direction so we take what comes our way. Most is very good stuff, but there are trade-offs and, so far, nothing else fro them has matched the CoRe and Relic performance on that tough nail test.

j.t., let me try to explain the Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic devices and smaller coils as I see them.

Yes, or the Relic, all based on the level of iron contamination.
