Hi Rick UK, I see the dates you are posting and they don't even register in that little brain of mine. I can't imagine finding gold and silver coins dating that far back. Over here on the Western side of the USA, we are lucky to get US coins dating back 150 yrs. on average. My oldest US coin is a 1840 dime so that would make it 179 yrs old.......that's prob still considered "Modern" for you folks over in the UK.

Would be fun to get a chance to detect over in your part of the World. Perhaps you would like to host a WTHO outing over there lol.

I'm thrilled if I can scare up a Barber dime, my town date's to 1871.
