Hey Randy, I have a Deus and I read your post and thought I’d try the “on edge” test. I took a clad dime and quarter and stuck them half way into the dirt. I used factory programs #2 and #9 called GM Power and HOT, respectively. These are the two programs I use most and I did not make any adjustments. Our dirt ground balances similar to Toano, NV.

In both programs I got a “diggable” signal both longitudinally and across. Although the cross passes were less desirable signals, I would have still dug them. The longitudinal pass gave a “double beep.” I then pushed the coins completely underground and got the same results.

Not sure how that other machine was set up but I was successful. Hope this helps answer your questions.
