"Religious Experience" ... Location might be part of the key reason.

You make a good point, I have been finding more Religious Items with my EQ800 than ever before ! winking smiley

Rich -
Have you been searching a different type of site more often, or working different locations since you've had the Equinox? Those could be some reasons you are finding more religious associated jewelry items. At least that's what I have found through the years. Not just a crucifix but all sorts of religion-related medals, rings, neck chins, bracelets, etc.

As an example, a CTR ring is much more likely to be found in the state of Utah or other areas close-by in adjacent states or places where there is a more active LDS populations or activity. Another I have found is when I have hunted places where there is a greater Hispanic population and activity as a greater percentage of them tend to wear Catholic religious jewelry.

Locations of activity have also seen their highs and lows at producing religious jewelry, as well as just a greater amount of higher-quality (gold and silver) lost jewelry. In the more populated and larger cities when I was more energized (mobile) and worked bigger and better tot-lots more often, those increased my religious and other jewelry finds. Also during a more high-use period for soccer fields, most of those I saw taking on that sport wore a lot of jewelry, especially big, heavy neck chains and rings. Other gold adornment as well, and working those sports fields produced a lot of gold and silver jewelry.

But some of that has been more select of the neighborhood where the site was located. Also, it was a higher number of recoveries in the earlier days, about '85 to ±2000, and then I've seen a decrease in the number of people wearing all that shiny jewelry like they used to when out playing the game.

Are you working different types of sites with the Equinox 800? Could it be that what you used a lot before just wasn't as 'hot' or responsive to the lower-conductive gold jewelry?
