Yep, just reducing and adding as necessary ...

... to have a well-rounded Detector Outfit to handle all my needs for the sites I most frequently hunt. The only 'new' detector I KNOW I'll be adding to my Outfit is the Nokta / Makro Simplex+ which should be out fairly soon. I have a void for a light-weight, simple, yet versatile waterproof detector. Other needs are covered.

Sounds like a deal. If you end up with an 800 I promise I'll have an open mind and give it a go. But I too am at the point that I feel I don't need to be spending any more money on detectors.
If and when I get an '800' I'll let you check it out, but I'll have to stay close just in case impatience or annoyance makes you want to toss it or decorate a tree.

I am really happy with what I have, I like them and for me, they work.
That's exactly what I try to tell you when I explain why I have what I have in my Outfit. They work for me, and I simply break them down for specific assignment or duty: That way I only have to load three detectors when I head out, and maybe add one or two from my 'Specialty-User' group to join my Regular-Use Team.

Relic Hunting iron infested sites: Nokta FORS CoRe, FORS Relic and Tesoro Bandido II microMAX.

Coin & Jewelry Hunting typical urban sites: Makro Racer 2, Teknetics T2+ and Tesoro Silver Sabre microMAX.

Specialty-Use units for a variety of applications: Fisher F-44, White's XLT and modified IDX Pro. (Soon a Nokta / Makro Simplex +.)

And like you I also have a really nice IDX Pro with Mods (hint, it was your last one or should say it used to be the last one you had)
Yes, it was/is.

So looking forward to Tuesday if I can get out and we have a IDX Pro day out at Rippville. Should be fun.
Yes, I am definitely ready for a day at Rippville (or as long as my body can hang in there) doing a head-to-head with the modified IDX Pro's w/6½" Concentric coils. That ought to be fun

I hope you remember how to GB one of these with the mods...
Blindfolded! They are simple.

..can't remember if you try ground balancing in all metal or discriminate mode......
Take your pick, because, as I said, it is simple to do.

All Metal mode: Just trigger-toggle forward to All Metal, set the Frequency Adjust knob at the factory default pointer and leave it there (until needed for EMI), adjust from a 'proper' slight audio Threshold hum, then Manually GB with the coil worked between 1" and 6"-8".

Discriminate mode: Establish the Frequency Adjust and Threshold settings, then I the silent-search Disc. mode (with the toggle set to 'Black Sand') simply use the GB control and 'Power Balance.'

Either method, unless in extremely ugly mineralization, should only take between 5 and 15 seconds.
