Chasing down 'loaners' and hoping for silver!

Last week I thought I'd have a little fun working with each of the detectors I have fitted into my Regular-Use Outfit by taking them, one-at-a-time, to an older site that is about equidistant from Oregon Gregg and me. It's close and handy, and is almost flat, and also very clear of weedy brush this year. It's also been detected through the past many years, but Gregg and I have put some time in there and it still will occasionally kick out an older coin. Sometimes, it's a silver coin so we keep out fingers crossed.

My plan was to use the most open and bare dirt area and grid it off and work it slowly and methodically because, believe me, there is an abundance of trash you have to deal with. Then, once I find a 'keeper' and am not skunked, I go to the next detector and coil combination to see how they do. Just Search ... Find ... Swap Models.

The best news is that so far, I have not found one single 'modern' coin. The bad news is that I haven't found any silver coins yet, either.sad smiley

• Last Wednesday I used the Nokta CoRe w/'OOR' DD, 3-Tone mode, Sensitivity @ 99, Disc. @ 10, and found a 1942-D Wheat-Back Cent.

• Last Thursday I used the Nokta Relic w/5" DD, 3-Tone mode, Sensitivity @ 99, Disc. @ 5, Iron Volume @ 2, and found a 1939-S Wheat-Back Cent.

• Last Friday I used the Makro Racer 2 w/7" Concentric, 3-Tone, Sensitivity @ 99, Disc. @ 3, Iron Volume @ 2, and found a 194? Wheat-Back Cent.

• Yesterday, Sunday I used the Teknetics T2+ w/5" DD, 3-Tone mode, Sensitivity @ 95, Disc. @ 10, and found a 1913 Wheat-back Cent.

It's a beautiful sunny fall day and if I get enough cleaning done today, I might head back out later this afternoon with the Fisher F44. When I find something I'll then go to the Tesoro Bandido II µMAX and next the Silver Sabre µMAX. Kind of fun to rotate through all of them after making a good-target find.
