Seems to happen that way. Hope you make the sale. I have never dug a SLQ. Sure would like to some day. How do you like the 540 ?

El
I know I would much rather have been the one to make that find, but it is what it is. he enjoyed using the F44, and much improved features and performance over his 'yard Sale' Bounty Hunter Fast Tracker. I said he'll probably buy my other new F44 when he gets paid in a week ro so.

Hopefully it wouldn't be long and you'll luck upon a Standing Liberty 25¢ as well. I had to take look when I found my last one and it was a no-date, slick I found on June 28th of '17 so I've gone almost 3 years w/o one. Maybe this year?

Now, how do I like the Vanquish 540? I really ilke it because it's working OK for me and I continue to learn more about it each time I'm out hunting. (Something I continue to do all the time through the years with any detector.) As you might have read by now, I liked the V-540 well enough with both coils that came in the 540 Pro Pack, that I bought a second 540 pro Pack so I can keep a 5X8 DD on my main-use unit and the 9X12 DD on the occasional-use unit.

I still have to get into a 'busy' environment with a variety of rusty tin shards of different sizes to better evaluate all the units I have and both V-540's and coils, but so far it's been doing pretty well. For day-to-day hunting with minimal ferrous trash, and typical Coin & Jewelry Hunting types of sites, I find the V-540 to work fine with the default High Iron Bias. When I've been working in dense Iron Nail contaminated sites, I have my Disc. low enough to hear iron nails, but found the Low Iron Bias to help handle the conditions pretty well for what the detector is. The main feature it lacks is Automated or Manual Ground balance and it operates on a default GB setting, in software, so you just have to work around that design glitch.

I know I would have no use for the V-340 and only little interest in the V-440, but the V-540 Pro Pack is a very decent value and in-the-field performance. Both coils are nicely balanced and comfortable, and the wireless headphones with the 540 Pro Pack fit nicely and work terrific ... even for me and my impaired hearing.

It makes a nice 'fit' in my Detector Outfit with the other models I rely on.

Sometimes it almost hurts to loan a detector to someone.

You never know who will run the coil over something.

Yes, the Inca was, and still can be a Relic Hunter.
