Yes, the Inca was, and still can be a Relic Hunter.

I no longer own it, but know where it is. Too heavy for me to use for long periods anymore.
Still remember the fun and all the stuff that Inca found for me. Great relic machine!

I used mine for Coin Hunting or really to hunt anywhere, but when it came out in mid-'83 I got my Inca and Mayan the same day. The Mayan looked the same but was a VLF/TR-Disc. mode and the Inca a VLF/VLF-Disc. and I used them both to get a feel for them. The Inca came with that thicker and heavier 8"-8½" coil and I much preferred the 7" Concentric on the Mayan. The next day I swapped coils and from then on the Inca w/7" and I had a wonderful time anywhere ... but especially Relic Hunting iron littered ghost towns.

It had a much better balance and feel with th 7" compared with the stock coil. If I ever come across a pristine condition Inca that still works well, push-button and all, I just might consider picking one up for the memories. Odds are I'd do some hunting with it, too. That was the right detector at the right time for me and totally switched me over to serious Relic Hunting most of the time.

Sometimes it almost hurts to loan a detector to someone.

You never know who will run the coil over something.

A really good story, Mike. I enjoyed that. Still have the Inca? N/T
