Some SMF detectors run that way all-the-time, such as a Minelab BBS or FBS model or the new Vanquish series, the Fisher CZ's and others.

Some SMF models also have a provision for the operator to turn 'Off' the Multi-Frequency and operate on one of the detector's Single Frequencies, such as the Minelab Equinox models, White's Spectra series V3i, the soon-to-arrive Garrett APEX and other models out there. These questions are for those that have and use an 'operator's choice' model like I just mentioned:

1•• What Make and Model do i currently use? Equinox 800

2•• Do you use the detector in SMF ONLY? Almost always to take advantage of the benefits of Simultaneous Multi-Frequencies (vs selectable multi-frequencies)

3•• Do you often use one of the Single Frequencies? No

4•• If so, what percentage of your detecting time is using a Single Frequency? <1%

5•• What is the most-used Single Frequency? The one with the least amount of EMI (electromagnetic interference)

6 - - Do you vote liberal multi-frequency or conservative multi-frequency? confused smiley

Have a great day -
