Here's one for your 1944 "time slot" Monte.-------William James Sidis dies in 1944 of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 46.-----Little history on him: Possibly the smartest man that ever lived.---His I.Q. was estimated to be 50 to 100 points higher than Albert Einsteins.---He could read the New York Times before he was 2.---At 6 years of age his languages included English, Latin, French, German, Russian, Hebrew, Turkish & Armenian.---He was accepted at Harvard at the age of 9 but they made him wait until he was 11 to enter Harvard & he was still one of the youngest students in the schools history.---He received his degree from Harvard at the age of 16.----I was 5 years old when he died and starting to school in the first grade---William Sidis I'm not (that's for sure)!------Del

Quite a few of us were 'Born in the first-half of the last century!'

I remember back a ways when I turned 55 and qualified for the 'senior discount' at restaurants. I was fortunate back then as most of the time I appeared to look more in the 45-ish to almost 50 year old range, so when I asked for a discount and the gal complemented me and said "You don't look old enough," I paused a moment then told her the above statement. I've been saying that ever since and each time it kind of makes me feel older and look older. I mean, that does sound like a reference to being ancient.

So, as I've ripened more, I appreciate the reminders on an annual basis and am certainly pleased I'm alive and alert enough to receive them.

Again, Thank You' all and do your best to stay well and enjoy your own aging process.eye popping smiley

There's a look at some of the noteworthy events that occurred in the First-Half of the Last Century ... and quite a few AHRPS participants and avid detecting fans, just like me, fall into that same era.

There, now I don't feel all alone. smiling smiley
