The Equinox 800 might not be the best all-purpose detector on the market, but it is a versatile detector. It can handle most of the hunting you would do, and better yet it has proven it's abilities to you since you've put in ample time afield with it.thumbs up

Monte

Monte,

I'm glad that I am steady at the helm of my ship. thumbs up

I'm curious as to what detector you would put in my hands in place of the 800?

Where's my 800 been? Jewelry hunting on Sports fields, playgrounds, salt water and fresh water beaches and shallow water (knee, waist and chest deep). Coin hunting in school yards, parking strips, old parks, the yards of old homes. Coin and relic hunting in ghost towns, mining towns, rail stops, stage stops and military encampments. Prospecting for gold in old mining areas. And it is light in hand, especially compared to some older offerings.

Rich

Yep I think you should just keep the Nox 800. It has done you well. Like me you seem to have 'synced" with the machine, learned it well and it produces for you. For me it was the Fors CoRe, is it the best machine..........prob not. Is it the worst detector....nope.

For Zincoln, it is the V3i and a few other Whites Models. The one thing we all have in common is we can post some pics of some pretty nice finds.

I have had my butt kicked by Zincoln and a V3i as well as you and the 800. Both great machines, but I had my butted kicked by them. So I see them as two more objects that create frustration in OregonGregg's life grinning smiley Also its a 100 degrees out now so only thing to do is come on the forum and give ya some grief about your machine.

But for me what really counts is loading up the dogs and going out and having some fun, the outings that Monte has done over that last 5 years, the trips Zincoln and I do in the Sprng. That is were the real fun is and memories made.

And rest assurd if you and I are out hunting together and Me & the Fors CoRe find something and you don't.............I will only politely bring it to your attention.............. <evil grin>
