We might have run across a couple of those guys--can't remember.-----I have a hard time remembering what color of sox I have on let alone names & faces.grinning smiley----My wife & I have always detected together & have never belonged to a club except the one in the SW where we now spend the winters.----We live in eastern OR now & have for quite a few years.--------Pretty funny about those "fish stories" isn't it.-----Reminds me of this guy I know that used to hunt an old park in CA where we have hunted for years.-----He first started with the story of digging a WL half in there at around 7 inches.----Every year it was the same story only that sucker half would be about one inch deeper.-----Last I heard his story--I think that half was around 14" deep.grinning smiley-------We ain't no good cuz we've hunted that place for years with Explorers & brought silver quarters, a few halves & even a Peace dollar out of there---and you know what----not a one of 'em was over 7" deep. grinning smiley

D&P-OR last question first no not of the Church but of my local Masonic Lodge. A position that they seem to keep me in year after year. If you were a fairground specialist you might have bumped into Bill Cook he and I did the old abandoned fairgrounds in Northwest Iowa and northeast Nebraska. Was a friend of Paul Tainter from Ames, Ne. Attended a treasure get together that Dean Miller and Paul put on out in Ames. Bunch of old boys sitting around the camp fire telling stories and swapping lies. If half the stories were true they found a bunch of treasure. I was a young man back in those days. My knees and hips will have to get a lot worse before I give up metal detecting.

By the way Happy Birthday wishing you many more to come.
