How about the Nokta FORS CoRe?

Kickindirt: The old fors core musta failed miserably being you listed it as one for testing but didn't mention the results of it. ha ha

No, the 'failure' was on my part. I was very tired when I posted that and I nodded off shortly after. Just too tired, I guess, but I just added the results and corrected my oversight a few minutes ago.

No, the Nokta CoRe didn't 'fail' the test at all. It gave the same results as the Simplex + with a very clear, repeatable audio response and a fairly tight visual VDI read-out. But due to the influence of the 'IMB' using the 3-Tone mode the Zinc Cent reported in the Mid-Tone range and the VDI was pretty tight at '67' rather than about '82' or '83' I figured it would do well ahead of time because I have hunted quite a few places where I have to deal with surface rocks.

Two such sites would include the gold mining era townsites of 'Lost' and 'Lone Tree' where a detector needs to be prepared for frequent encounters with challenging rocks. I hunt those place and know which detectors I own and use are most up to the challenges they present. I was just tired when I did the post, and I think I was also concentrating on the newer models many readers have been interested in, such as the Simplex +, Vanquish 540 and Apex. To my benefit, I own and use all three and any of them make a very useful detector to have in-hand in those types of environment challenges .... as well as the CoRe or Relic.

How about useable detectors for very high mineralization, pea gravel, rocks and IMB's?

Saturday was interesting with 7 different detectors.

The Results →→→ 7 detectors take on a 3"X4"X1¼" rock.

Just some reminders and why I like having a versatile team of detectors.
