I think you will find it's not that special in ghost towns......all the freq it throws out will not come close to unmasking coins etc. that a Nokta Makro single freq machine will do. Upon release they also released a whole bunch of hype ... or in my town we would say a whole bunch of B...S.... Like a Minelab machine it will find the deep silver in the parks.....prob better than any other machine.......put it in a ghost town and it falls on it's rear. It's really that simple. It might be full of magic...... but throw it in a ghost town full of iron and rusted tin..... you will find no magic in that machine.

You are both wrong and right. Heres the magic KEY. I think most people that have experience swinging in heavy iron/tin with say nokta/makro,deus, Eq 800, vanquish will probably agree. That the minelab are still very good like Del mentioned in the busted tin for example. The Key being that they can only handle that to a certain point like any other machine. Only thing is that they get to that point a little faster than say deus, or anfibio. Also have to factor patients and swing speed into that equation. Gregg they do take a bit of learning curve to recognize this factor. Also they don't NULL out as easily as you seem to think. Thats even more reason for you to try one. I bet you would take back your words after giving one a fair shake. Fair shake being like 200 hrs or so give or take. Just my take from using the vanquish and Eq 800 in nastiest areas of sites like Toano.
One thing I can say the eq 800 doesn't like is a little EMI factored into all these conditions in multi freq mode. Prob running in single freq would have fixed that but at that point might as well grab a detector that can handle both.
