I can take a Tesoro analog metal detector or a White's IDX Pro have it running perfect without looking at it...is that skilled enough?

Hombre - In a round about way, yes. How long did it take you to get to that point with the IDX Pro and your favorite Tesoro?

Hey Rich...Learning these excellent analog metal detectors is not rocket science. When I first got my IDX Pro 14 years ago then got the Mr. Bill's mod It took me a couple of hours to learn to adjust the Ground Balance. I would turn the GB knob out of adjustment then get it to slight positive ground response when bobbing the coil over a clean spot of ground. Do this enough times and you can do it with your eyes closed....lol.....When I was out in Wells NV a couple of years ago at the ghost town Toano, I could not find a clean spot of ground to adjust my IDX Pro, Monte, being the helpful mentor, told me to adjust over one of the many rocks laying around. It worked perfectly.

The Tesoro Bandido and Pantera are 2 of my favorite non metered machines and they were learned in a couple of hours also. The Pantera has a little bit more to learn than the Bandido, since it is a 'notch' discriminator but easy just the same. These excellent analog metal detectors were a great learning experience and now learning the digital detectors like my Nokta Relic or XP ORX is a piece of cake. Every time I go out with one of my detectors is a learning experience, great fun in the great outdoors. Hope your adventures are fruitful and fun.

Randy

Good question, and a relatively short reply ... for me.

How many detectorists can say this...Blindfold me and hand me a completely misadjusted metal detector and have it running tip top in about a minute or 2
