Monte thanks for the shout out in the eval buddy.

My pleasure, I acquired most of my brand new detectors from you or Detector Electronics, and I felt readers ought to know who I used to acquire the detectors that I purchased for my Multi-Model Evaluation. None of them were freebies, they all worked hard to empty my pockets. Thus, I used the Dealer I have trusted before and enjoyed their prices and/or shipping so I could get busy with my review.

You forgot to mention which machine had 42 points. I really don't like this type of thing. Starting to be like the detecting manufacturing companies. Teasers!

I didn't 'forget' to mention, I just delayed it for a while. I am working right now on Follow-Up #2 and when I post it I will also go in and add the Detector that scored the 'perfect' '42' Points

.. anyway ill play along to keep it fun for ya im guessing it was the silver saber with the 6DD coil. I say that because your always to specific to mention that Tesoro concentric are 5.75". But you called them above 6" ....

► No, not my Silver Sabre µMAX which scored '41' Points, and that was with the 6" Concentric coil.

► No, not a DD coil on most Tesoro's because, most of the time for the sites we hunt and on 'general-purpose' Tesoro's, a DD coil doesn't work well compared with a similar-size Concentric coil. (Just as Ryan about checking his Tejón on a Nail Board in Tecoma.)

► Tesoro didn't make a search coil that measured 5.75 Inches. They, like White's, made a wacky decision to misname some coils. White's called the 8" coil on a Quantum II a 7.8, and used 5.3 for some Black Max, Bulls Eye and Eclipse coils. Those were all using the Blue Max 600 housing which they called a 6" coil, but anyone who knows how to use a ruler or tape measure can see they are closer to 6½", not 600 or 5.3 anything.. With Tesoro, their so-called 5.75 measures a spot-on 6" without including the coil cover. Trust me, I have a beautiful 6" Concentric coil mounted on every Tesoro here in my den, living room or back seat of my vehicle.

... so I'll go with the Tesoro bandito or silver saber with 6"dd.

Now the Bandido II µMAX, my other Top-Two Tesoro's, would be a solid consideration since it also features a manual GB control, however, subtle little circuitry design differences result in different performance.and by choice-condition Bandido II microMAX ... both of them I have as a matter-of-fact ... . only scored '39' Points using their own mounted 6" Concentric coils, so they didn't quite match my 'turn-on-and-go' Silver Sabre microMAX.

So, what detector scored the '42' points? Here's a little hint ........Check the Follow-Up #1 post later today when I add it.winking smiley
