OregonGregg ... I think sometimes you'll find time on the Spectra .... on a good reel .. but it doesn't have to be now ... especially when Zincoln can help with excellent advice on setting up this detector properly.

Why not 10 DD ..? ... dimensionally it should be an excellent coil ... for depth and sensitivity ... but the coil 12x10 "SEF can easily overcome it in depth ... even in sensitivity on small targets in the ground ...

I thought, that 10 "DD is better for MXT pro ... but she didn't convince me ... I tried 2x 10" DD for Spectra and 1 original 10 "DD coil for Mxt pro ..

Deep targets will show 10 DDs still with the probability of iron, as a less positive ID ..

10 DD coils simply cannot take full advantage of the good properties of Spectra and MXT ...

there are coils that do much better ...

It's my main coil for ordinary detection ... for larger areas .., or I also use 13 "ultimate ..

And the smaller 8x6 "SEF / 7" Ultimate ..is also an excellent compromise of depth and separation ... this coil can give good blows ..in its weight ... especially n TX boste ON ... and what is mainly ... excellent lightening of Spectra for detection in mountains and hills, but also in smaller detection areas ..
It also gains more EMI resistance and this is also important on some days of detection ..- where you can still detect ..

This Spring when Brian & I do our NV trip, I'll take some time and use/play with the V3i. I kinda get stuck in my ways at times. I have been pretty happy the last 5 years with my Nokta/Makro machines and looking forward to using the Whites MXT/M6 again.

On those machines that offer a multitude of adjustments, I always worry " Did I set this up to work great.....or did I mess around with all the different settings, and now it works not so great. I would always be questioning myself wondering if I adjusted /tweaked the settings correctly or not. And then the time that is going to be required to really learn the machine.
