And that's a (kinda) reasonable way of thinking/response Gregg.

-----I've been through 'em all & IMO---IMO---if you end up getting the Vanquish---use the V8 AND the V10 coils on it---loose the V12.-------With the E800---it's the 6"---loose the 11".-----How I wish Coiltek or Minelab would come out with a 5X10 for the E800---but it doesn't look like that is likely to happen.-------Try the Vanquish---it's obvious you are going to be miserable till you do!

D&P-ORWell Gregg------Seeins as how you are so hell bent on the Vanquish----I'd say 'go for it"------It doesn't have the performance nor is it up to the busted tin hunting capabilities of the E800 (with 6" coil)-----But why be concerned about a little thing like that when it is such a purdy red color!!!--------You better get a Vanquish--you aren't going to be able to live with yourself till you do.

why would I need the 800 or 600 when the vanquish does so much. See enclosed pic of vanquish brochure.
It states the Vanquish:Is Turn On And Go, In Seconds Vanquish Auto-Selects The Best Settings For Your Soil-No Need To Choose Frequencies Or Ground Balance.
It would appear the Vanquish is pretty confident in its abilities.
Whereas the 800& 600 offers a single freq selection....why ?? If Minelab SMF Multi IQ was going to obsolete all other machines, then why did they offer that, single freq. selection. I always wondered about that......and more importantly, and it gets me excited all over again as when the Red Racer came out. Red is good and I might be due for another red machine... maybe
LOL Del ya know me good enough to not take me too serious
OK, the serious answer to your question of why I don't get the 800. For starters, OregonGregg and Minelab generally don't go together in the same sentence. I like the Apex as well, but generally speaking it kinda has the same DNA as my other machines.............. The Vanquish is a bit different. Saying all that, the reason for the Vanquish is that it gives me a chance to try a Minelab and try Multi IQ etc. If I go the Nox 800 route with a stock and 6" coil I'm looking at around the $1000 mark. The Vanquish gives me an inexpensive way to give a Minelab SMF machine a try. I realize it is not a Minelab flagship, but I feel it offers enough to get a good taste/get my feet wet with a Minelab machine
