OregonGreggA good functional 3 tones for the win. Is all that is needed
Yes, I agree. Especially in a lot of the plentiful debris areas of ghost towns and similar places, a good processed 3-Tone with a good detector design works quite well. My CoRe and Relic are both program-saved to turn-On in 3-Tone. So is my Simplex + using Park 1's 3-Tone mode for most trashy urban areas.

A lot of machines added 2 tone to make the NBT sound better.
Now, it is funny that you said that, but we shouldn't fool readers to think 2-Tone came later.

But
it is true, as you very well know, that a good 2-Tone audio, the natural, non-processed 2-Tone audio, is a killer on the NBPT or when hunting any site where Iron Nails and similar ferrous objects are the primary trash targets to be encountered.
That's why I like a good 2-Tone option on my Relic, CoRe, Simplex + and F5.
