You described the allowable detectors in two ways:
"
Use your Vintage Classic Metal Detector made before 1987 at a location(s) of your choice. Show others that old detectors still find treasure.............submit pictures of finds, detector(s) used etc. Hunt program pdf. file booklet will be made after the hunt, which will be distributed free on-line.
Detectors BFO, TR, OR, IB, VLF/TR, Pulse Induction."
Some folks might know that 'TR' and 'IB' are essentially the same thing as we simply went through a change of name as a popular terminology. Most, I would bet, have no clue what 'OR' stands for, and it is not ORegon.
I am all for the latter description, but it should clarify that you're not including any of the VLF-Disc. models, like the Bounty Hunter Red Baron, or the Teknetics CoinComputers, White's early 6DB and 6000 series, the Fisher 1200 series, the Tesoro Inca, Silver Sabre and all the other fast-motion and slow-motion based
(VLF-Disc.) detectors that came out after the Red Baron and before 1987.
If we stick with BFO's, TR's, TR-Disc. and VLF/TR-Disc. models and not include any of the motion-based units, it might be a more fair and fun playing field.
Just a thought on this topic, and I have a few oldies around that would qualify .... and I wouldn't have to grab a Tesoro.
