Monte we are on the same page

yep. health, time allowed due to wifes failing health, and work full time with many life changes ahead.

i need light units. and simple units help. i too have a pair of favorite Tesoros, the Sabre Plus..i know thats your least favorite Monte, but they work great for me, and the Eldorado uMax with manual GB and the 9x8 coil. the Sabre has a Mojave coil, and i have a number of other coils, including the hockey puck to an 8 in white, brown donut and original white donut. even a weighted donut off a stingray.

the SimplEx i just dont gel with, but patient. stock coil i dont like. i hate where the pinpoint is and as you said, after years of use on the others i turn the durn thing off by accident too much.

the AT PRO handles my soils well and is all around, and i have a hockey puck, stock and 5x8 DD. Wireless add on z link but keep headphone adaptor taped on unit.

the Troy Shadow which is again another Tesoro with the super 7 coil is my daily unit now. keep in the car unless parking in sun. quick tot lot unit. its sentimental from departed hunting partner and he loved the lack of weight on his joints. good for tot lots. knowing it, adjust penny zone, it works well.

my parts of the OR unit are in, housing prepped and painted, shafts cuff foam, all ready for assembly and should have been done by now but life happens and work fired up at warp speed and year and 1/2 behind!

the SimplEx will go . barely used did manage to put a slight scratch on the face plate, so you know i owned it lolololol... its going back to sandman in California.

small herd minimizing in progress again. whole life and style. cant take it with me... wont need it... less work on the kids.

The very knowledgeable FoilFinder, Mark, his motto is Beware the man in the old west with just one detector, for surely he knows how to use it.... there is much to be said in that.

i would be torn between the AT PRO and the Eldorado uMax if only one. the AT PRO would get the nod because of readout to offset my hearing, and waterproof. barely light enough for now.

the Troy X-2 will be passed on to someone who deserves it and would use and appreciate it when the time comes.

May the last hole i dig be my own, and will a fellow detectorist cover me up. And you can have the pulltab!
