with today's "multi-freak" detectors,a large coil is NOT the "burden" it once was in trashed public spots.you get the ''best" of both worlds, in that "separation' and
"coverage" are "paramount" in such places.although there is plenty to be said for a little "concentric" working "high trash" when "properly gridding" and concentrating on "over-lapping techniques" are brought into play. I concentrate
on the little 7" concentric when using the Tesoro on curb strips mainly because of the small width of the strips, that allows for coil overlap, and the ability to focus on all hits in a small space.i tend to use the vanquish's 12" coil when confronted with large open parks, because of it's ability to separate,AND allow "better" coverage.with multi-freak in play.
