Is Whites still doing service in Lebanon? Thought they had left or shut down there?
Thanks for ideas to try.
Cheers
White's Electronics, as we knew them, have always had their primary facility in Sweet Home, Oregon. The parent company died and closed their doors. The proprietary information and some inventory was purchased by Garrett Electronics who can now make whatever models they choose, using that design information, under the Garrett Metal Detectors banner. They did not purchase the land or all of the machinery, etc.
White's Electronics detectors had been being repaired by Centerville Electronics, located "back east" for a long, long time and they continued to do so. Todd Marshall, a long-time White's Electronics employee had been doing repairs at the White's Sweet Home facility. When White's closed-up, he didn't have an employer. However, he acquired some of the repair parts that were available and started doing repair service on White's detectors. He lived just down the road in the next town of Lebanon Oregon. It appears he has teamed up with Centerville Electronics to provide White's metal detector service from that west-coast side of the USA under the Centerville Electronics logo.
Hopefully, those who have been using White's detectors for a while will continue to have knowledgeable repair service to keep their favorite White's detector working on into the future. During many of the years White's Electronics was alive I visited their facility to have a number of their detectors or search coils repaired, and I know Todd and the service he has provided me on several occasions.
