Generally, 'No' is the answer, and for a very good reason.

Monte, is it necessary to factory reset a machine (any brand) when changing coil sizes?

To 'Reset' or 'Restore to a Factory Default' at coil change would erase any saved settings and you would have to start all over and make any settings adjust5sments you ha prior to the Reset / Restore.

However, whenever you change search coils it is a good idea to re-Ground Balance the detector for the coil in use.

A good time to Reset or go back to Factory Default is when your detector isn't behaving properly and / or you are not sure of the different adjustments made that might have resulted in poor performance. It's a 'start-over' point.
