Monte----You (for the most part) made a pretty good post this time---and---I agree with it (for the most part)---the top half of the post at least.thumbs up-----But then you couldn't/wouldn't stop & went on & on into the second half!sad smiley-------Oh yeah & BTW----c'mon now Monte----you know it goes waaay past wishful thinking & there's no hope that FTP is going to do ANY KIND of make over of the ancient F-75.-----Balls--they aren't going to do anything with anything considering their "track record" for several years now.----What are yah doing down there at Wells in that motel room----just settin there & "thinkin"??-------Get out there & do some hunting---you are now in a prime detecting area!!-------Del-----

Readers how follow me might make a note of this statement:

"I Like a Multiple-Frequency Detector."

There are a few other features or functions I would like to have, but many we see these days I can easily live without. Here is a main list of what I want:

** Very good weight and balance that is comfortable.

** An arm cuff that is comfortable, adjustable for length to the grip; and wide enough to accommodate a heavy sweater, jacket or coat.

** Search coils with a sturdy, center-positioned rod-mount.

** An assortment of coil sizes in both Concentric and Double-D types.

** A true, Threshold-based All Metal mode, and a silent-search Discriminate mode in 2-Tone and 3-Tone, as well as a 'Deep' or 'Boost' mode. mode that is also 2-Tone.

** Variable Volume control and Variable Iron Volume control ... and it must work in ALL Disc. modes.

** Variable Discrimination from a true '0' through US Zinc Cent.

** '0' to '99' VDI read-out.

** A Ferrous/Non-Ferrous break-point of '15'.

** Toggle-trigger for Pinpoint as well as Ground-Grab functions.

** Manual GB option.

** GB that functions in BOTH the All Metal and Discriminate modes for the full-range.

** Variable intensity, white-colored Display Back-Light..

** Replaceable Alkaline or Rechargeable AA batteries.

** Wireless Headphones and a hand-held Pinpointer that links to the Headphones.

** A 1/4" Headphone Jack located at the rear of the system near the arm cuff

** One On/Off Volime control and One variable selector control for mode and function selection and One control (push button) to scroll and activate selections.

If you have ever handled a Teknetics T2 or Fisher F75, that used the T2 physical package, you know that influenced a lot of my wish-list. Some of the wishes would be changes like a Back-Light that could be Off or On with variable brightness intensity. Iron Audio adjustable in ALL Disc. modes.

In short, it wouldn't take a lot of change.. so far .. to engineer a new model at FTP. At least only a little trimming and adding or changing what the F75+ offers. Oh, except for that one final change to qualify my initial statement, that: I Like Multi-Frequency.

I have owned BBS, FBS, Multi-IQ and the systems used with the CZ, Apex, DFX and V3i. And the Multi-Frequency I liked the best?

Selectable Multiple Frequency like on the Nokta Impact or N/M Anfibio. Having only 3 Frequency choices is fine and they could make it 4 but I don't think there is a need.

Since the mid '90s I have owned a lot of Single Frequency and Selectable Frequency and Multi-Frequency detectors, searched many different sites and types of challenges, and spent a lot of time comparing various detectors on naturally-located targets.

Do SMF detectors have some advantages? Yes, so zme do, at times, and for a lot of hunting they can be fine. However, quite often I enjoyed better in-the-field performance with one of my Single Frequency units or a multi when I' opted for one of their Single Selectable Frequencies.

If they left the F75 at 13 kHz and we could select something like a lower 6.5 kHz or a higher choice like maybe 26 kHz, that would provide ample spread for good selections.

Yes, I would be quite pleased with a little fixing-up and enhancing a good F75. Comfortable and versatile in a terrific and proven package.

Del, I hope to detect before I head home. N/T
