Anyone, even I, can maybe not-like something and utter something that bothers a few, but for the most part, ahrps forums users tend to speak in favor of what they DO like. If they have experienced something that don't like they might comment on it, but not as negatively as I have seen on some forums. One reason I don't most on some forums very much.
An example, I grumbled about the mixed-up preset GB of the three default Vanquish mode and it lacking a GB function ... but I continued to buy three, initially, and have now trimmed my personal arsenal to 8
(no more than10) detectors, and doing so I bought a new V-540 with all 3 coils. Why? Because I learned the Vanquish and I know its shortcomings, but I also know the strengths of what I can use for certain hunting applications.
I am aware there are time when a SMF function can be helpful, but also when a good Single-Frequency operation has distinct advantages. I understand Minelabs move to introduce the 700 and 900 Equinox models, but I really think they might have addressed some desires for former users of the E-Trac and such with their new Manticore and I look forward to personal use and review comments from those who use it, such as UtahRich.
There hasn't been, isn't, and never will be a 'perfect' detector so it's good to learn and know what works for each of us.
