They've been busy, but I'm interested in new model offerings.

I'm waiting for there new waterproof Garrett. I thought we would have one by now.

I am not too bothered by a delay, partly because I don't need waterproof and a model like the Apex makes a great land-based unit. Besides, they have been busy with designing their Axiom, but I think a waterproof SMF will likely be their next offering.

The Manticore is basically an improved Equinox with a 2d screen. According to Nasa Tom it will get false hits in iron that I don't like at all. I'm passing on this one. Might get at Deus 2. That would make 6 detectors for me.

Personally, I don't really put credit in "Iron Falsing' because it is often more a reason related to how man has shaped the Iron object. Even though we enjoy a Low-tone Audio on most detectors these days for a ferrous-based object, it isn't going to be 100% because things are based on the target's conductivity. Iron is a conductive metal. Low in a size-comparative scale, but generally low. However the target's shape can affect the conductivity, and the detector's circuitry design for processing it faces some challenges. At times, we get a higher tone, due to a higher conductivity, and there isn't much we can do about it, other than analyze the target using a coil-control (I named it EPR for Edge-Pass Rejection back in the late '70s) sweep to check a suspect object.

We had fewer so-called 'falsing' issues back when we used a TR or TR-Disc. model, or even the VLF models that followed with GB/TR-Disc. modes than we do with most of the more modern units. I think the Manticore might provide a bit of an edge when encountering some iron debris we encounter.
