Not offended here at all. I like the challenge and simplicity of the old analog machines other like the tech.
The most important thing to ask yourself is does the machine put a smile on your face or does it feel more like work?

I have certainly had a few detectors that something other than what I had hoped. Fortunately, there were others anxious to put them to work.

Some I've had were great right off the bat and became fast friends -
