It will take a little while to get it ready, and here are some things I plan to do:

1.. We will be eliminating the Annual US Coin Tally and Annual Old Coin Tally Forums.

2.. We will be eliminating detector brands that are defunct and out of business. Currently, those include the Tesoro Electronics and White's Electronics Forums, and others like Compass, DeTex, Gold Mountain, Pillar, etc.

3.. We will add any current manufacturer that is going strong in the industry, such as Quest Metal Detectors. They will be listed alphabetically along with others by 'brand' and not lumped as they are now like with FTP. There will be:

Fisher
Garrett
Minelab
Nokta
Quest
Teknetics
XP

I am NOT going to include any of the mass-produced, copy-cat, cheap units that are off-shore junk, and I am also not going to include Makro units because Nokta/Makro has dropped the Makro part of the name and just gone back to Nokta Detection Technologies. The ONLY current Makro unit they have listed on their website is the Gold Kruzer and I suspect it will soon be eliminated. Makro product discussions will be in the 'Defunct Brand' Forum.

4.. We will add a 'Welcome' Forum to introduce new Registrants and let them fill us in about their self.

5.. There will also be a Beach Hunting Forum to go with the Relic / Old-Site Forum and Traditional Coin Hunting Forum. We might also add a Gold Nugget Hunting Forum.

All Brand Forums will require posters to stay brand and topic specific. We will continue to have the General Metal Detecting Forum for 'other' topics, and those could include discussions on Search Coils, PinPointers, other detecting gear, etc.

The new Forums will have a different look and a change in site routing. It's there now, you just don't see it.
