For depth with the Deus 2 you are not going to see a big difference maybe 1"+. The Deus 2 & Legend have great separation in iron. On an ocean beach the Deus 2 can hit a buried nickel at 16". I haven't tested my Legend on a gold buried in lake beach but depth should will be very close.

Between Deus 1 & 2, depth will about the same. The Deus 2 hits louder and it looks like it has better separation. Deus 2 has great id.

I would pass on the Manticore because of it's problem in iron. I do believe you will have the option of which coil you want when you buy it. The 6x8 coil is nice. Coil I think are going to be expensive for the Manticore.

Right now for a new detector the best detector choices I think would the Deus 2, light, great separation and id. The Legend get 6" & 6x9.5 coils. It's heavier but with the 6x9.5 coil it feels good. Separation is incredible. Equal or better than the Deus 2. And the Minelab Xterra Pro. Don't know about that one yet.

There is nothing wrong with the older detectors like the T2, F19 and others. They are all vlf detectors with more features and adjustments added. So they all basically the same.
