how a particular detector performs.
Loren read through his script / notes okay, but you still had to pick apart what he was saying. He was comparing the SMF Equinox 800 & 800, Manticore, Deus II and Legend. Generally, he was suggesting they all work about the same and talked about hitting a thousand targets in-the-field and comparing responses with other detectors, and while some might have a different TID or a different audio Tone, all of the detectors would get a hit on the thousand located targets.
Well, with 58 years of detecting using SF and SMF detectors, I often find a located target that a different make and model might not respond to. Or, sometimes, they might respond better.
The he said the Nokta Simplex + was also compared and it, too, responded to all the targets he checked. Really? So the good quality but lower-cost 12 kHz SF might make a better choice as a 'best' detector it seems. ???
Dilek, of Nokta, did complement his post because it pointed out, sort of, that a similar competitive unit at a much lower price can be just as good.
In the end, it shouldn't matter the make or model or features as long as it is a quality-built detector, you learn it well, and you use it often.
