Quite the contrary kac, the tests were very useful to us and proved incredibly helpful in selecting the detector(s) that would provide the greatest depth and best results in searching for remaining targets at this heavily hunted site. As for your thin gold chains. . . if you are interested in searching for thin gold chains at the beach, I'm going to recommend you tune into Calabash Digger's YouTube channel, he's right up your alley.
