The NEL Sharp (5" DD) is more effective/works better than the FTP 5" DD on the F-19----been there, done that.

I remember when the first Fisher Gold Bug and Teknetics G2 came out and their 19 kHz Frequency didn't work well with a Concentric coil. Later the F-19 Ltd. 'family' was introduced and I tried a Concentric coil or two but they didn't work well. FTP claimed it was due to the operating Frequency, and I found that only a good DD coil performed reasonably well.

So, double-check all your detectors and Frequencies and different search coils to find what works well for you and the challenging sites you hunt. Now I am looking for a 5" DD for my F-19 Ltd. However, I am pleased to have a new 7" Concentric coil for my Racer 2 as it works quite well in an Iron Nail challenge over a mid-sized DD such as the 5X9½. Always good to have search coils you can depend on.
