I'll just give you my opinion and what I've experienced in the area. Take it or leave it. I'm not going to be there due to a scheduling conflict. That place has been absolutely hammered over the years with every VLF & PI on the market. Yes you can still find stuff,. people do every year at Gerry's trainings. But You're going to need either a good PI (GPX 6000, Garrett Axiom or GPZ 7000) or a high KHz VLF (Garrett 24k, Gold Monster, Gold Bug 2, Equinox 800/900) there are others out there, minimum 40 KHz. The gold that is left is either really small, really deep or crystalline and makes it hard for low KHz machines to detect it. If this is going to be a one time adventure, I wouldn't waist my money buying a 3k plus PI. Honestly the best bang for your buck would be a Legend pro pack with the small coil. I've found gold with the following machines in that area. Equinox 800, Nokta Legend, XP Deus 2, Minelab GPX 6000. The problem you're going to run into with a VLF is the deeper gold being called iron by the machine due to the mineralization. I've seen it more than once where I've got a signal with my 6000 and grabbed one of the mentioned VLF's and it either sees nothing or the ID is in the iron range. If you are going to use a VLF dig every signal no matter what the ID says.
