I went coyote hunting with a metal detecting buddy. The coyotes were smarter than us so we detected meat poles and fire rings in the hunting camps. I got a little "quality time" with my Racer 2. I'm getting a little better idea of how it indicates. It seems coins ring sharper thinking cleaner thinking but as you can see, I dug a bunch of pull tabs and tarp grommets and a lot of rusty bottle caps. I hunted in three tone, and turned the gain down to 65 or 50 in the areas with many .22 shells. One wheat was about five inches deep. We hunted 9-10 hours total in three days, but all in all, a successful "lesson." How could I fuss about three wheats 1944, 1954, 1956; and a beautiful 1943 Mercury dime too!
